Triple your donation as Chevrolet, Cadillac dealerships compete for charity

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Dimmitt Chevrolet and Dimmitt Cadillac are scheduled to compete at raising funds for the Salvation Army at two different Publix locations in Clearwater this Wednesday and Thursday.

The dealerships will ring the bell for the Salvation Army, in part of a friendly competition to help those in need this holiday season.

In addition to the volunteering effort, the Dimmitt family will match all donations collected on these days, while an anonymous donor has pledged to match the donations received and the Dimmitt family’s contributions. This double match will result in a sizeable monetary contribution to the Salvation Army.

“We are excited to partner with the Salvation Army and are looking forward to raising as much money as possible for those in need this holiday season,” said Lawrence Dimmitt IV, owner of Dimmitt Chevrolet. “We are asking the community to come out on and help us support this great cause.”

Team members from Dimmitt Chevrolet will be collecting at the Publix at Gulf to Bay Plaza at 525 Belcher Road in Clearwater on Dec. 23 from 3 p.m until 8 p.m and again on Dec. 24 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

While, team members from Dimmitt Cadillac will be collecting at the Publix at Northwood Plaza at 2514 North McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater on Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Dec. 24 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Dimmitt Chevrolet was established in Clearwater, Florida in 1924 and employs more than 110 people. The car dealership was selected as the best auto dealership for 2015 by Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay. Dimmitt Chevrolet was also named one of Tampa Bay’s top 100 places to work by the Tampa Bay Times in 2015.

Bottle Breacher teams up with Wicked Good Cupcakes to send holiday packages to troops

11212701_567475120073760_6446001598229052259_oBOSTON – Bottle Breacher, a veteran-owned company that hand-crafts .50-caliber bottler openers is scheduled to be at the Quincy Market building of Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston at 11 a.m. on Saturday to help assemble holiday care packages for troops.

To accomplish this project, Bottle Breacher has joined Wicked Good Cupcakes, a Massachusetts-based bake shop that specializes in producing baked goods like brownies, cheesecakes, cookies, cup cakes, and pies packaged in mason jars. In 2013, Wicked Good Cupcakes began hosting the annual event called, Taste of Home, which provides holiday gifts, letters and thank you notes to troops who are deployed overseas.

Members of the public are invited to attend the event and provide written letters and notes, which can be sent to the men and women serving overseas in the Middle East.

“We’re looking forward to this event and the opportunity to give back to our men and women who will not be home with their families over the holidays,” said Eli Crane, a former Navy SEAL and founder of Bottle Breacher. “This holiday season, I encourage everyone to take a moment and think about those men and women who won’t be with their families for Christmas, but who are making sure you will enjoy time with yours.”Flat Black Clear ®

Last year, more than 25 people attended and 65 large care packages were sent out. This year, more people are expected to be on hand to help with the project, which will provide hundreds of service members with hand written letters, encouraging notes and upwards of 3,000 cupcake jars made by Wicked Good Cupcakes. 12339656_568346573319948_3650377487210761777_o

“Wicked Good Cupcakes has always been a big proponent of giving back to the military and veteran community,” said Nora Weiss, brand manager for Wicked Good Cupcakes. “With the help of our awesome customers, we were able to bake and ship close to 2,000 jars last year.”

Former Navy SEAL promotes 2nd Amendment, slams Obama, radical Islam

TUCSON, Ariz. – Eli Crane, a former Navy SEAL and founder of Bottle Breacher, is taking a stand against radical Islam and encouraging all law-abiding American citizens to consider arming themselves as allowed by the 2nd Amendment.

Crane, a former member of SEAL Team 3 who deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, says he is highly disappointed in the way the this administration has handled terrorism incidents, including the most recent one conducted Wednesday by radicalized Muslims in San Bernardino.

“I’m thoroughly disappointed in our president for burying his head in the sand and shifting fire towards gun control, instead of addressing the real threat of radical Islam,” Crane said Thursday. “Instead of trying to disarm Americans, we should be encouraging legal gun ownership and for those gun owners to become proficient in self defense, including active shooter scenarios.”

Merely hours after the attacks in California, the president resorted back to his anti-gun rhetoric by pushing for stricter gun control.

“The irony is absolutely striking, and the president is either completely oblivious to the threat of radical Islam, or he’s simply choosing to ignore it in favor of pushing the liberal agenda,” Crane said.

The day before the attacks in San Bernardino, a new study released by George Washington University had academic researchers calling the growing support for radical Islam historically “unprecedented.”Flat Black Clear ®

“Whether we like it or not, radical Islam is here,” Crane said. “This administration won’t even secure our borders, which is why the average American shouldn’t depend on this government for their own self defense.”

According to Crane, getting a concealed weapon permit is only the first step in self defense. Following up with proper training is imperative to being able to defend oneself. Crane believes with the right training, properly armed citizens have a better chance at defending themselves from armed threats like terrorism and other violent crimes.
