Bottle Breacher donates, helps raise $2,500 for LAPD Bomb Squad Police Unity Tour

LAPD-PlaqueLOS ANGELES – Bottle Breacher, a veteran-owned and operated manufacturer of custom beverage openers, recently donated 100 Bottle Breachers to the LAPD Bomb Squad, which raised $2,500 in funding to help honor fallen officers.

Upon hearing about the need from the LAPD Bomb Squad, Eli Crane, owner and founder of Bottle Breacher, immediately pledged support for the police officer’s 3-day, 250-mile bike ride from New Jersey to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall (NLEOM) in Washington D.C.

“Our police officers should be supported in all they do for us,” said Crane, who is a former Navy SEAL. “Honoring those who have fallen is something every police officer should be able to take part in. We humbly honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and support the LAPD Bomb Squad in their journey.”

The Police Unity Tour is in place to raise awareness, funds and honor the fallen law enforcement officers throughout the country, while continuing to keep the memorial maintained and opened year round.LAPD Police Unity Tour DC 2

Every year, the names of the officers killed in the line of duty during the previous year are added to this wall. The family members of the fallen are invited to attend and each one is escorted by a law enforcement officer during the candlelight vigil.

LAPD Police Unity Tour DC“This wall ensures that none of the officers who have died in the line of duty will ever be forgotten,” explained Ofcr. Stefanie Alcocer, LAPD Bomb Squad. “It is a powerful, life changing event that is physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. But when we feel like quitting, we remember our motto, ‘We Ride For Those Who Died’.”

This year’s ride will begin on May 10 during Police Memorial Week. Those who wish to donate are encouraged to visit http://socalput.com/donations/.
