Lutz family endures 10-foot hole in living room for nearly 1 year thanks to USAA, bails gallons of water out home every time it rains

LUTZ, Fla. – A local Tampa Bay area family is still dealing with a 10-foot hole in their living room more than two years after a tornado caused damage to their home due to USAA’s refusal to properly fix the damage, property owners said.

The 2,600-square foot Lutz home, owned by John and Maureen Whitlock, was damaged in November of 2018 when a storm ripped through their neighborhood.

Bomnin’s Miami Chevrolet stores rank #1, #2 in U.S. among all Chevy dealerships YTD

MIAMI – While Arnaldo Bomnin’s life has been nothing short of amazing so far, he now has another extraordinary accomplishment to add to his growing list. Not one, but both of his Miami Chevrolet dealerships are ranked in the top two spots in the country for sales for 2020.

Even though they are only eight miles apart, the two stores located in Dadeland and West Kendall sold the most Chevrolets of all 3,049 Chevy dealerships in the nation for the first four months of 2020. Amazingly, Bomnin Chevrolet in Dadeland ranked number 1 and Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall ranked number 2 for all GM dealerships nationwide in the first quarter and have continued for the rest of 2020, as well.

“This is truly remarkable as it has never happened before – to have two Chevrolet dealerships, in the same geographic market, owned by the same person, ranking number one and number two in the nation,” said Bomnin. “It’s also unique because Miami has been known as an import market over the past two decades, but there’s no question that American made Chevrolets are proving to be popular again among our diverse community.”

While new car sales have declined for the last two months nationwide, the two Chevy dealers in Miami are only 1.3 percent (West Kendall) and 4.8 percent (Dadeland) off last year’s new car sales for 2020 year-to-date.

“The secret to our success is no secret,” said Bomnin. “We do as much as we can to give back to the community.”

Last November, Bomnin donated more than $250,000 dollars to charity in one evening during the opening of the Chevrolet and Cadillac dealerships in Homestead.

In 2019, the Dadeland dealership sold 5,087 new cars and 2,026 used cars, while the West Kendall dealership sold 4,200 new cars and 1,701 used cars. Additionally, earlier this year Automotive News ranked Bomnin Automotive number 88 out of 150 auto groups in the U.S. for sales.

According to Bomnin, their most popular sellers in Miami are Corvettes and trucks.

About Bomnin Chevrolet

Bomnin Chevrolet began as a single dealership founded in 2010 by Arnaldo Bomnin, a Cuban immigrant who escaped the communist nation in 1996. Under his leadership the company has experienced transformative growth from selling an average of 70 cars a month to becoming the largest Chevrolet dealer in the nation selling more than 1,400 vehicles per month. Currently Bomnin Automotive operates five top-rated General Motors franchises, with four in South Florida and a fifth in Virginia, near Washington D.C. The small group generated $580 million dollars of total revenue in 2019.

Bomnin Chevrolet Dadeland has been awarded with the prestigious Dealer of the Year Award for the last five consecutive years, and the West Kendall dealership has earned the award the last three consecutive years. The Dealer of the Year award is given to less than one percent of GM dealers across the nation and is based on their commitment to excellence through sales, service and customer satisfaction.
