Chuy’s Tex-Mex to raise funds for local charity, begin hiring for first Tampa location

Iconic restaurant to hire 175 team members and fund-raise for Wesley Chapel charity

TAMPA, Fla. – Chuy’s, the Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant known for its made-from-scratch dishes, fresh-squeezed lime margaritas, and eclectic atmosphere, is now hiring 175 employees for its first Tampa Bay area location in Wesley Chapel.

“One of the keys to our fun and family-friendly atmosphere is our employees,” said Helen Bowen, Chuy’s Wesley Chapel Local Owner/Operator. “We are looking for talented, hard-working individuals to help deliver our commitment to food and make our restaurant not only a place to find great Tex-Mex but a great place to work in the community.”

Chuy’s is hiring for multiple full and part-time positions, including hosts, servers, bussers and bartenders. The authentic Tex-Mex restaurant is also looking for talented kitchen staff to help prepare the scratch dishes, hand-rolled tortillas and homemade sauces. Priding themselves on working hard and having fun at the same time, Chuy’s will be looking for new employees in Tampa to continue that trend.

Interested applicants can apply in-person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chuy’s hiring office, on site of Chuy’s Wesley Chapel location at 25750 Sierra Center Boulevard Lutz, Florida 33559.

As a commitment to the community, Chuy’s is also pledging to raise funds for Healing Horses One Child at a Time, a Wesley Chapel non-profit dedicated to providing permanent sanctuary for rescued horses and joining them with children of special needs, physical or emotional disabilities, and at-risk youth.

From Mar. 12-14, Chuy’s will donate $1 to Healing Horses for every “like” received on the Chuy’s Tampa Facebook page.

“We found something very special when we came across Healing Horses One Child at a Time,” said Bowen. “We’re excited to be partnering with them and truly believe in what they are doing for the horses and children in the community. Their mission is one that everyone here at Chuy’s is excited to support for years to come.”
