Inaugural Tennis Tournament Being Held to Assist FoHCAS, A Non-Profit Animal Welfare Organization

dogTAMPA, Fla. – A local animal non-profit is taking the love pets have for tennis balls and putting a new spin on it by taking to the tennis court to raise money to help shelter animals at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center.

Friends of Hillsborough County Animal Services, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is scheduled to hold a tennis tournament to benefit pets from Sept. 25-27.

In addition to the tennis tournament, a fundraiser including live and silent auctions will also be held.

All activities are scheduled to be held at Buckhorn Springs Tennis and Swim Club in Valrico, Florida. The player and sponsor welcome party will take place on Sept. 25, from 5 to 9 p.m.  The tournament will be held on Sept. 26 and 27, including Men’s & Ladies’ Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

“As a completely volunteer organization, connecting with donors and raising money for these animals is one of the most vital aspects of what we do here,” explained Jackie Osborne, president of FoHCAS.  “We firmly believe treatable medical conditions should never be a death sentence for a shelter animal.”

All proceeds from the tournament will be used to assist with medical care for shelter animals, enrich the shelter environment, reduce euthanasia by assisting in the promotion of adoption and promote the humane treatment and care of cats, dogs and other companion animals through educational venues.

Friends of Hillsborough County Animal Services, Inc.(FoHCAS) is comprised of private citizens and is an entirely volunteer organization whose members do not collect a paycheck.  For more information or to make a donation, please contact us at http://www.friendsofhcas.org/ or directly at (813) 922-8364.
