Local youth, animal charity recieves $4.8k donation from Chuy’s Tex-Mex

TAMPA, Fla. – Chuy’s, the Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant known for its made-from-scratch dishes and fun-loving atmosphere, presented a $4,875.31 check to local charity organization Healing Horses One Child at a Time on Tuesday morning during a brief ceremony at the company’s new Tampa Bay area restaurant location.

The check presentation ceremony celebrated the fundraising success of Chuy’s New Tampa’s grand opening and the impact the funds will have within the community. Prior to its grand opening, the restaurant hosted a variety of fundraising initiatives via social media and during opening events.

“We can’t express how grateful we are for Chuy’s support. Thanks to their generosity and the support of the community, we will be able to continue our mission and help countless neglected horses and local youth,” said Beverly Levitt, founder of Healing Horses One Child at a Time.

Based in Wesley Chapel, Healing Horses is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing permanent sanctuary for rescued horses and joining them with children of special needs, physical or emotional disabilities, and at-risk youth.

“Chuy’s has always believed in giving back to the community and supporting organizations in the neighborhoods where we do business,” said Helen Bowen, local owner/operator of Chuy’s New Tampa.  “It’s been a privilege to help raise money for Healing Horses One Child at a Time and we look forward to continuing to work with this wonderful group in the months and years to come.”
