Dan Foard

Daniel Foard is a cinematographer, director of photography and FAA-certified pilot. He is a two-time Emmy award winner for his work with the 1997 ESPN X-Games in Oceanside, California and the 2016 NBC Olympics in Brazil.

Dan has worked for ESPN, ABC, NBC CBS, CBS Sports, Lucas Oil Production Studios, Fox Sports, Focused TV Productions for ESPN International Ironman, and numerous other media productions. His experience shooting live events includes Clearwater Jazz Holiday, Third Eye Blind, Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, the Commodores, Toby Keith, The Temptations, Kenny Loggins, Sheryl Crow, Buddy Guy, Natasha Bedingfield, Jordan Sparks, the 2012 NBA Allstars Opening Concerts and many, many more.

With more than 25 years of experience in broadcast television, Dan has covered Lucas Dirt Track Racing Series, APBA Boat Racing, H1 Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Series for more than 10 years, Off Shore Boat Racing, NASCAR, ESPN NHRA, including innovating the use of new camera mounting technology to and introducing GoPro Cameras to Drag Racing, Motocross, HDRA Off Road & Baja 500 Desert Racing. Other sports Foard has done videography for include the NFL, MLB, MLS, NBA, NHL, PGA, LPGA, AFL Arena Football, HBO Boxing, Bellator MMA. Ironman Triathlon, Swat World Challenge, Firefighters Combat Challenge, Incredible Dog Challenge, World Poker Tour, Ultimate Hero Experience Fishing Show on NBC Sports & Flats Masters Fishing Show.

Dan also has years of experience in live camera aerial operation for fixed wing aircraft for the Golf Channel for ICM4HD, CBS News WLKY Louisville and was a Startup Team Member of Bay News 9 in Tampa. Dan has also been a pioneer in POV (point of view) Camera use in Broadcast TV for ESPN NHRA Drag Racing with GoPro and has become an expert in drone camera technology. He has worked closely with GoPro Camera Inc. from their early days to present. Dan has worked with the FAA, federal, state, local municipalities and law enforcement to help design and implement laws governing flight concerns related to drone technology. Dan was directly involved with the creation of and is currently teaching his craft at the first ever Pinellas Technical College Drone Technology Class in St Petersburg, Florida.

Dan has served with a perfect safety record for hundreds of flights directly for the City of Clearwater. He has also been deeply involved with Enterprise Drone Technology and the integration of useful applications in Emergency Management and crisis response efforts during and post hurricane deployment for Hurricane Irma in 2017 for FPL. His still photography has been used for the DJI Enterprise Website and has also been published in publications like Air & Space Magazine.
