Triple-threat musician to perform at 2018 Safety Harbor SongFest

SAFETY HARBOR, Fla. – Josh Ritter, an American singer, songwriter, painter and author, is scheduled to perform on April 7 at the 2018 Safety Harbor SongFest.

Ritter’s ninth studio album “Gathering” was released in September of 2017 and peaked at number four on the U.S. Folk Billboard chart.

As a painter, Ritter has designed and created the album art for each of his studio albums.

Ritter has written his own New York Times Best-selling novel titled “Bright’s Passage,” which was published in 2011. The novel has since garnered critical acclaim from those in the writing community including famed-author Stephen King.

“I love to write almost as much as I love to perform,” says Ritter. “For me, the two are inextricably linked. It will be so much fun to share my songs. I’m looking forward to a great evening.”

Ritter was named one of the “100 Greatest Living Songwriters” by Paste magazine and is known for his distinctive “Americana” music style and narrative lyrics.

“We are super excited that Josh will be playing the festival,” says Todd Ramquist, SHAMc co-founder and festival organizer. “He has been on our wish list of performers for a while now and it will be great to be able to share his music with our audience.”

The fifth annual Safety Harbor SongFest is scheduled to take place April 7 and will also feature musical performances by Fantastic Negrito, Larkin Poe, Selwyn Birchwood, Meiko, Danielle Mohr, Betty Fox, Mountain Holler, Kristopher James, Ari Chi, The Urban Gypsies of Florida, Jonnie Morgan, Ezra Huleatt of Black Taxi, and Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root.
